picture of mom...

Not the best, you can't see much of her face, but it's how I will always remember her, laughing, talking.

The ceremony was saturday, i unfortunately did not get back to CA for it. That made me sad. She was a tremendous presence. I'll miss her. rather than people sending flowers and such her son (my best friend) asked everyone to make a donation to her favorite charity. Heifer.org http://www.heifer.org/siteapps/personalpage/ShowPage.aspx?c=edJRKQNiFiG&b=477011&sid=itK0K5NHLfJXJaOKLqG

Which is a wonderful charity that is helping end hunger in the US and all over the world. Helping people feed their family & generate income. Mom, you are missed.

So, on to other things. Alec started back to school yesterday. much to my delight. Now I don't have to listen to the boys fight all day. We took Alec this weekend to get some school clothes. (to the outlet mall in San Marcos) Scored some major deals at Children's place. Derek took the boys to KB toys and bought them each a pair of boxing gloves. so they got home that afternoon and preceeded to wail on each other. No one was hurt of course and they loved it.

With the start of school, we also have the start of cubscouts. I had spent the better part of the afternoon sunday planning the scouting year for our den. It's a lot of work. I had told Derek that he needed to take on more of the work when it came to the cubscouting stuff. of course the OCD in me kicks in when it's almost september, we have the first den meeting coming up in less than 2 weeks and he has not even cracked the book yet. So the year is planned, just have to type up calendars and get them out to the parents.

Also have some work to do for the mom's group. another thing to add to the always growing to-do list.

I have pictures from yesterday, I'll have to upload them later and post. Alec had a great first day. came home with of course a stack of papers for me to fill out. (mommy homework)

Today's to-do list:

  • finish laundry
  • vaccum downstairs
  • go through boy's clothes (pull out the too small stuff)
  • re-organize pantry
  • and of course play with Cole :)

Have a great day!
